Yesterday, our members celebrated the US Independance Day holiday. Some of us spent the day with our families, some with our club mates and some with our entire communities.
The Active 20-30 Clubs of Eugene (OR) and Santa Rosa (CA), for example, both put on community events (complete with their city's fireworks displays) - major undertakings and worthy of a rousing Sousa march and round of applause!
As we cracked open beers and sunned ourselves with friends; as we worked our tails off to make sure our neighbors had an awesome celebration to attend, most of us also paused to remember why we mark July 4th - the events of 237 years ago and the ongoing sacrafices our military and our citizens make to ensure we remain a nation of men and women who are free to exercise our voices.
As we celebrate, the rest of the world goes on with their daily work. But not before taking note of the great accomplishments we as individuals and as a society have made.
Posted here is a note from the Active 20-30 National Association of Panama sent to us on the 4th. On many Facebook posts, our friends in Arbroath Scotland and cities across Latin America celebrated with us.
How are you spending this holiday weekend?
P.S. Thank you to everyone who took the time to send messages. What an amazing feeling to know that our brothers and sisters in Active 20-30 recognize our milestones and wish to celebrate together.
