La La La La La. I'm Not Listening.

Turn on the news. Chat with co-workers by the coffee pot. Listen to the kids with the droopy drawers talk to their parents. Some days it's easy to wonder what's ahead for our society.
"The Earth is degenerating today.  Bribery and corruption abound.  Children no longer obey their parents, every man wants to write a book, and it is evident that the end of the world is fast approaching."

Do those words sound familiar? It's sad that we've gotten to that point in the past few years... WAIT. WHAT? That's right, those are the words of Assyrian Tablet. He spoke them in 2800 BC.

Maybe there is hope for us yet. Maybe those attitudes - that rebellion - that sense of "my time" and "my turn" is what has kept us moving forward as a society.

In an organization where our founding came by breaking free of "old stuffy men with old stuffy ideas" (as legend has it), should we stop fighting to keep things the way they've always been? Should we not lend the floor for the children who no longer obey their predecessors?

I challenge you to form your opinions, find your voice and keep the world moving forward in your unique way.

As for bribery and corruption... mmm... I'm going with "not a good idea" on those.

An interesting side note: when National President Vineet Wahi emailed around this quote to a few friends, the following was received from Nate Oeming:
"This proves that Harry Truman was very astute in saying “the only thing new in this world is the history we do not know.

Thank you, gentlemen.
