Bust Out of Your Closet

This may be the single most powerful talk I've ever heard.

Maybe it's because it found its way onto my computer screen at the perfect moment. Or maybe because the speaker made the idea of waging a full-on battle with a purple-pajama-wearing 4 year old in the middle of a cafe (around the 2:00 mark) seem reasonable enough...

Ash lays it all out there: we all have closets -
all a closet is, she says, is a hard conversation - and closets all feel safe. But a closet is no place for a person to live.

Listen to this talk and think about it: what closet will you choose to bust out of?

Her TEDx Talk touches on so many concepts that we all - no matter our closets and our backgrounds - have to deal with every day.

Take 10 minutes. Pop in your headphones. And listen. Really listen. This talk is hysterical, but real.

I love love love her "Three Pancake-girl Rules" for coming out of any closet:
1. Be Authentic
2. Be Direct
3. Be Unapologetic
(Please please please don't quit before you get here in the video. There's a great payoff.)
